Photos of the 100+ acre Rio Grande City Fire 8/8/09 inside Rio Grande City in Starr County, Texas..... These photos are taken the morning after the fire's main run and after a shaky containment was established. The two main smokes are from a trash dump that had ignited and will burn for days on the east side, and from hay bales on the northwest side nearer the subdivisions. There were still multiple city engines performing overhaul. The river seen is the Rio Grande/Mexican Border.

These are high resolution photos and take a while to load even on high speed broadband. We could not fly low over this urban area without causing traffic problems so zoom in on the fire areas with whatever graphics software you are using.
